Чем интересно 3-рычажная лучше 2-рычажной спереди? И какой вообще смысл средней тяги??

* 3 Link Front Suspension w/ Panhard
I've decided to put in a front three link suspension to replace my stock radius arms. I've taken a look at several alternatives out there and believe this is the best solution for what I want to accomplish. The problem I've had with my stock FJ80 front suspension is the following:
* Because I'm at 7" lift my castor angle is way negative which causes tons of wandering and vibration on the highway.
* The entire front suspension (radius arms with bushings) is too stiff so the rear suspension unloads a lot quicker than the front. Front flex is very poor.
* By removing the front bolt from the drivers side radius arm you can get great flex but this weakens your suspension. You have only 1 bolt holding up your entire drivers side arm! Also you lose tons of ground clearance as the arm rotates downward.
* I cannot correct this castor without buying/fabbing a plating kit which in my opinion lowers the control arms even more making less ground clearance. Special arms are also available from Slee that can correct caster but they still use a radius arm setup which provides the same amount of flex as the stock arms did.
* The other alternative is to put the stock control arms on top of the axle but then again that doesn't solve the binding that takes place when flexing the front axle. You end up correcting your castor and getting great ground clearnance but still you have a radius arm setup which will not flex well.
* The front control arms take up over 3" of ground clearance on each side of the housing which I hit A LOT on the trails (even with 40's
What I am going to do is run some control arms over my tie rod and have an upper link above my diff which ties into the inside of the frame. I will keep my panhard rod but may extend it at the axle to help my bump steer. Ben Swain at Slee Offroad did a very similiar setup years ago on his trick FJ80. My upper mount will be very similiar to this one. I've also started a thread at IH8mud.com about this project. This page will be added to during the month so be sure to check back often.
Here is scaled diagram of where the front links will attach. I have studied several sources on 3-link and 4-link design and here is what I have come up with. I have had to modify my ideal setup because of limitations of where I can actually place the links under my 80. They are not as long as I hoped but at least they are longer than the stock arms. I feel this setup should work just fine. Next year I'll redo the rear links. Look at that horrible angle of my rear control arm... lol!
